  Hello!  This week we are focusing on Jesus calming the storm.  Upstairs for singing  Name badges   Have you ever been scared?  What are you scared of? Spiders / snakes etc  This story is about when Jesus’ friends (the disciples) were scared.   Action story:  Teach the actions  Wind - arms and whoosh noise  Waves - clap clap  Close fist - all noise  stops   Practise   Word and stop  Tell the story  Jesus and his disciples had been traveling all around the countryside and Jesus had been teaching and performing many miracles.  When evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake."  So they climbed into a boat and set sail to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.  Jesus was very tired and while they were travelling he fell asleep. Suddenly, The wind started to blow (wind sound - stop)  And the waves began to crash (clap clap stop)...

It may help to print and cut out the pictures in this lesson or to select soft toys to represent the characters. Select one for the father and two others to represent the sons. Share how the father loved his sons very much. Pick up the older brother and share how he was an excellent son. He obeyed the rules, worked hard, respected his father, and so on. Ask your child to name other good things for children to do. Next, pick up the younger son. Explain that he was selfish and didn’t care about others. Ask your child to name some selfish things to do. Show how the younger son asked his father to give him half of everything he owned so he could do what he wanted and never have to see his family again. Think about how this made the father feel? One day some pirates came and stole Patrick away and took him in their boat to ireland where they made him work hard in the fields looking after sheep.  Patrick was sad and lonely. He missed his Mum and Dad and he wanted to go home. He remembered that his Mummy had always told him to pray when he needed help and God would answer his prayers and help him. So he started to pray every day.  One night Patrick had a dream about a boat and when he woke up he knew he had to get to the sea and find a boat to go back home. So that is what he did.  Where would you like to go if you could go anywhere in the world?  Lets have a look at some really nice places you could visit ( Show pictures of beaches, playparks, mountains, countryside etc etc)  talk to the children about why they would want to go there, how they would travel.  Ask if anyone has been anywhere exciting -(Elena and Anita and Anna all def have. ) Talk about your own travels.  Lets pray and thank God for making such a fun world.   Talk time ;  Does anyone know what day it is today?  Its Easter Sunday.  Does anyone know what Easter is all about?  Have a chat about chocolate and whatever the kids think Easter is.  Some will know its about Jesus.  Tell them that we are going to hear the Easter story today and pray that we will all understand what Jesus has done for us.
