Creche 2023 - 10 weeks

Talk time :  We are going to play a game to see how clever you all are.   Im going to say the name of an animal and I want you to tell me what the baby animal is called.  ( If I can find a book of baby animals Ill bring it) What do you call a baby dog?  Cat ?  Horse  Cow, Sheep, Duck  Goat ( getting harder now ) Lion  Pig  Deer ( fawn)  Swan ( cygnet) This is the time of year when lots of animals are having babies.  Has anyone seen any lambs out in the fields?  I have.  They are so cute arent they?  This is also the time when the leaves are going to start growing on the trees.  All winter the trees have been asleep.  Most of them dont have any leaves on them but in the spring time the leaves start to grow and the trees start to look green.  Not many flowers grow in the winter time but in the spring the weather is warmer, the sun starts to shine more and things like flowers can grow.  Spring is...

  Talk time  Does anyone know what our senses are?  We have five of them.  They are things our bodies can do which are really amazing.  Our senses are sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste.  Show me what you use to see.  What do we use to hear with?  What do we use to smell with?  What do you use to feel things with ( they will say hands but point out that we can feel with all areas of our bodies)   What do we use to taste things with?  Isnt it wonderful that God has made us with ears and eyes and noses and mouths so that we can experience things in the world around us.  Lets pray and thank Him for our bodies and pray for anyone who isnt feeling well.   Pray.  ( This is going to be hard as pre-school kids cant really grasp abstract concepts too much yet) Talk time - lets talk about our families.  Hands up if you have a brother. Hands up if you have a sister. Hands up if you have grandparents.  Hands up if you have cousins.   Its nice to be part of a family isnt it?  Families come in all shapes and sizes.  Some families are really big ( any volunteers or helpers have a big family?) Some are small.  But we all need people to look after us and have fun with us and help us - even when we are grown ups!   Lets pray and thank Jesus for our families.  Talking time :  What has everyone been up to this week?  Pray for anyone we know who isnt well or needs some help Lesson - use car play mats - there should be three available. Who knows what this is?  Its called a map - and it is a picture of a place.  This map is of (a town, a farm , whatever it is.).  It shows us where all the different places  are and how we can get to them.  These are the roads.  And we can see the shops and the fire station and the hospital ....... or whatever......- ( spend some time looking at the map).   If we want to go anywhere in the whole world we can look at a map and it will show us how to get there.  It will show us the way. And if we ever get lost and we need to know how to get home a map can help us. Jesus says He is the Way.  He is a bit like a map.  Talk time  - what sort of house do you live in?  Show pictures of different types of houses ( I'll bring these in ) Did you know there are some people who dont have a house?  A house costs alot of money and some people dont have enough to be able to buy or rent somewhere to live.  Some people have to live in a caravan or a tent.   Some even have to sleep outside even if it is very cold or raining.  Lets say thank you to Jesus for our houses and all the things in them.  And lets pray for the people who dont have a house.  Lets ask Jesus to give everyone a safe warm home to live in.  1) Talk time .  Who are our friends.  What is good about them.  Lets say thank you to Jesus for our friends.  Pray 2 ) Lesson .   Can you remember what we were talking about last week?  Thats right, we were talking about fruit.  We ate some grapes to remind us that Jesus is a vine and we are the branches.  He wants us to grow fruit, but not grapes.  Can we remember any of the things He wants us to grow.   Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness , faithfulness and self control.
